The company manufactures and supplies cryo-magnetic instruments for research organisations world wide.
Components in the manufacturing pipeline were listed on various spreadsheets from where they were copied and pasted into customer project files. This process was error prone which meant production quantities were kept small which increased production costs and delivery times.
We developed a bespoke ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution in FileMaker which managed the end to end production of all products.
Base system configuration and all customer requirements were input into the system, which then identified if the stock was available, in production or if a new batch needed to be produced.
The system allowed production to be scaled up while reducing turnaround time. This brought unit costs down, allowing greater price competitiveness and volume discounts. By having stock ready for dispatch, customer lead times were significantly reduced.
